ESSAY

This essay took me weeks to write. I made up about 5 different plans, and kept scrapping ideas from them, making new ones, getting inspiration from Sarah uploading the reading about fashion crime scenes, i found it a stressful process. but i found it even more stressful because i tried so hard for so long to get my head round Susan Sontag and Roland Barthes. Barthes is the worst, i seriously struggled to understand anything he says, he talks in riddles. i have to take extracts of what he says and then write it out again in my own words, or read it out loud to someone for them to then reiterate it back to me in english i understand, i feel like i read a lot of books for this essay to really try and build up my knowlage of what i wanted to talk about. I kept finding it really hard to change my writing style from time to time when i was working on different aspects of the project, for example  i was writing my essay and film pack at the same time and was finding it really difficult to not make my essay so report sounding and more acadmic. i also felt as though i needed to add some sort of theme to my question, i couldent just solely write 1,500 words on the narrative in photography, i needed to find a subject within narrative to talk about which had depth and intrest which is why i chose violence.
